Saw that movie a couple of weeks ago, and as a Swede, I was Like “wtf is this shit”. My first thought was “god, who came up with this insane idea?” and then I thought “oh no, a big portion of the viewers of this Special The Herding Cats Jigsaw Puzzle Shirt movie will probably think some (or all) of this is true…..”I mean, we have a lot of old traditions that are pretty weird if you think about it, like most countries. The best part was when he said something “we are going to his yodel farm”.

Yodel is an old “singing technique/genre”, it’s not like you have a farm for it. It’s like saying: I have an opera farm or an acapella farm. Feels like the screenwriters just google “Old Swedish/Nordic stuff”, smoked some weed, and just made stuff up. It’s not nearly as good as people make it out to be. But maybe I’m just jaded and have Special The Herding Cats Jigsaw Puzzle Shirt seen too many films. It takes an insanely simple and basic premise and then pours buckets of overly-artsy shlock all over it to make people feel like they just saw something profound when it’s probably just pretentious.

Again, maybe that’s just me. But it feels like some college kid’s tribute to Jon Waters and David Lynch. I thought it was pretty straightforward and I enjoyed the ending a lot. It’s long as hell, but it’s also visually very stunning in my personal opinion. Even in the slower parts, my interest kept because of how it was shot and looked. I didn’t find it Special The Herding Cats Jigsaw Puzzle Shirt pretentious, just very different from what we’re used to in typical horror films. The female lead absolutely killed it, I could feel her pain and it made the scenes hit so much harder. The relationship between her and her bf felt more realistically handled than I’ve ever seen a movie handle a crappy relationship. They managed to not make him a supervillain, but rather a really shitty person.
