If the holiday was set for a Monday I Can Do All Things Through Christ Except Change My Price Shirt or Friday. Some people would probably just use the day to take an extended weekend vacation rather than vote. It also probably wouldn’t do anything to encourage turnout in people who already have little to no desire to vote. So while I do think that Election Day as a holiday would make voting easier. I don’t think it comprehensively addresses voter turnout. Which is the bigger issue? In fact, only making Election Day a holiday might convince some. That nothing further needs to be done to boost turnout. That’s what I dislike about it.

A voting holiday in the US I Can Do All Things Through Christ Except Change My Price Shirt is pointless as it would simply make it harder to vote for the people. Who already have a hard time voting. In the US, the fed essentially can’t force private enterprises to shut their doors to observe a holiday. So a voting holiday would simply take on the form of Labor Day or Memorial Day. Where retailers and service industries focus on driving sales. If we made this day a holiday, then lower and middle-class workers would get the day off. And this would disproportionately advantage Democratic candidates. Instead, those people have to keep working and can’t vote.
