Can somebody Funny Don’t Use Soap On Me Shirt explain how getting rid of and destroying mail sorting equipment is supposed to save money?? Like what is even the premise of that. No one can explain that because this isn’t what is actually happening. Equipment must be maintained and space may be better utilized for other purposes, like sorting packages instead of letters. Fewer machines mean fewer operators and mechanics. You also won’t have to pay to fix those machines. They’ve been getting rid of machines every year, but this year they are getting rid of a lot more than previous years.

The machines they Funny Don’t Use Soap On Me Shirts destroyed sort a combined 26 million letters per day. It would take thousands of humans to sort through the same amount of mail every day. The postmaster general has stock in UPS and FedEx or something like that so it’s in his interest if USPS fails. It’s not, and honestly, people should stop asking as if there’s a possibility of a reasonable answer. It just normalizes it. Those machines were already paid for. I don’t see how they save money either. I had the same question. Best I can find is that the USPS admins claim a majority of the mail is packages now, not letters. So they are removing under-used letter sorters to make room for more packages.
